Towards Formal Modeling of e-Contracts
نویسندگان
چکیده
The emerging B2B technologies allow for more automated management of e-contracts including contract drafting, negotiation and monitoring. As technology infrastructure becomes available for electronic exchange of contracts and contract-related messages, the IT community is becoming more interested in modeling of contracts as governance structures for many interorganisational interactions. This paper presents our initial ideas for formal modeling of e-contracts. This includes specification of deontic constraints and verification of deontic consistency associated with roles in a contract, precise modeling of temporal constraints/estimates and verification of temporal consistency of an e-contract, and finally scheduling of the required actions. The paper also introduces visualisation concepts such as role windows and time maps and describes how they could be used as decision support tools during contract negotiation.

Formal languages and analysis of contract-oriented software
In this work we present a visual model called CO Diagrams for the specification of e-contracts. This model includes specification of obligations, permissions, prohibitions, reparations and restrictions such as real time constraints. We also define a formal semantics of the visual model intended for the analysis and verification of the modeled contracts.
متن کاملDeveloping Reliable yet Flexible Software through If-Then Model Transformation Rules
Developing reliable yet flexible software is a hard problem. Although modeling methods enjoy a lot of advantages, the exclusive use of just one of them, in many cases, may not guarantee the development of reliable and flexible software. Formal modeling methods ensure reliability because they use a rigorous approach to software development. However, lack of knowledge and high cost practically fo...
متن کاملA Methodology for Model-based Verification of Safety Contracts
The verification of safety requirements becomes crucial in critical systems where human lives depend on their correct functioning. Formal methods have often been advocated as necessary to ensure the reliability of software systems, albeit with a considerable effort. In any case, such an effort is cost-effective when verifying safety-critical systems. Often, safety requirements are expressed usi...
متن کاملTeachers' Attitudes towards Teaching in Formal vs. Informal ELT Contexts
Up to now, many studies have been done to show the origin of attitudes and their relationships with behaviors or actions. Some of those works have focused on students' attitudes and some have introduced the various contexts of language teaching and learning. These studies were enough to give a new impetus for conducting the present investigation. This paper investigated the teachers' attitudes ...
متن کاملModeling Directed Obligations and Permissions in Trade Contracts
In this paper we present definitions for directed obligation and permission in trade procedures and contracts. These definitions are based on deontic logic and action logic. The aim of these definitions is to give better models of directed obligation and permission that enables better modeling of procedures and contracts in (electronic) commerce. We show that these definitions can be used to giv...
